After putting out some bird feeders over the last couple of weeks, we are pleased to say that birds are taking (and enjoying) the nutritious treats this winter.
On our hour-long bird walk undertaken on Saturday afternoon (rescheduled), we managed to spot:
House and Trees Sparrows, Great Tits and Blue Tits, Blackbirds, Dunnocks, a Robin and a Kestrel flying nearby.
We also heard Jays calling from over the Oxcroft site.
It wasn’t the best of weather – cold and very overcast, but it was a productive walk. It gave us the opportunity to investigate ideas on how we could support and encourage more birds to Stanfree Park.
